W G Alcock was among the most highly respect cathedral Organists of the early twentieth century and had the unique distinction of having performed in Westminster Abbey for the coronations of three English monarchs, Edward VII, George V and George VI. He was Organist of Salisbury Cathedral for thirty years and travelled extensively as an Organ recitalist.His compositions for Organ are now performed less frequently than they once were. These short voluntaries would be appropriate for the intermediate level Organist.
