Saint-Saëns' Oratorio De Noel Op.12 for SATB and Piano accompaniment.
Camille Saint-Saëns wrote his Christmas Oratorio (Oratorio de Noël) in just 12 days. In its first version the work was premiered on Christmas in 1858. The vocal parts and the Piano version were printed in 1863.
Even before the full score appeared in the press, Saint-Saëns made some changes in the manuscript, which led to contradictions, errors and omissions between the different readings. Now for the first time this work is presented as Saint-Saëns intended.
