A stinker! I have really enjoyed other Tavener pieces - Innocence and Annunciation among others, and have loved singing Hymn to the Mother of God and The Lamb with my choir. Not fancying 'O Perfect Love' for our wedding, I thought this might be worth a look, but it is inappropriately dischordant, and I can't imagine anyone finding it suitable for their marriage ceremony.
The level of the piece is the same as with much Tavener - if you have a choir who can sing in 8 parts and master some unexpected intervals then you're well on the way. Its difficulty after that probably is probably due to the pace, which is very slow.
There's space for you to insert the bride and groom's names (3 syllables) which is gives room for personalisation, but dischords at the start of the couple's names makes it feel like you're singing about the evil in the world!
