A wide selection of pieces with various levels of difficulty. Purchased for the alternative ABSRM grade 1 piece. I was pleasantly surprised.
        Slightly on the expensive side.

The variety and level of difficulty makes this book very interesting to use as a resource and a teacher can use this to illustrate the tempi , melodic and harmonic content of many dance genres. Children interested in dance and classical music MUST encounter these types of music and as a choice of "free choice" pieces it gives enjoyment with lots of rhymical discovery so it seems rewarding to expand the repertoire effectively but with fun.
A bit more text would be interesting.
I would have encouraged the player to tap before play, and imagine which type of dancer was intended. ( groups of 2, folk dances, ballet, or ballroom.) Composers and countries are hardly mentioned and some are "famous" for various types of dances.

Brand new for 2012 and its already been nabbed by an adult who did grade 2 in november. Its a fun book with lots of styles - old and new so this is going to be a great book for all ages as not patronising or childish
