Bought for a 'Come and sing day' arranged by our chamber choir. A wonderful piece to learn. Enjoyed by those attending.
A challenging piece but with a good music director is possible even with a small choir.

        Skipton GB Passionate amateur musician
Whitaker, like many other composers today, is caught in the dilemma between writing music which is easy enough for (good) amateur choirs to sing but still sounds contemporary. His "Alleluia" meets the first test - it is strongly tonal and the vocal lines are perfectly singable - but...
... compared with other works of his (eg "Cloudburst") it is disappointingly conventional and bland. 90 years ago Stravinsky and Poulenc were writing choral pieces that were both singable and red-hot new - why can't composers today??

BENDIGO GB cathedral musician and composer
The luscious sound of the piece.
Hard for a small choir as there is a lot of division and it needs a good soprano and bass soloist. BUT worth the challenge.
